Characters from "Cut" by AndrewDickman Characters from "Cut" by AndrewDickman
Here's a series I rarely talk about, Cut. Here's a little about it:

Joseph Kilwaiter and Benny Diaz have known eachother since High School and through film school, always fascinated with creating their own films and movies. However, getting intot he business was tough, so they did what they could to get in and became Crew Members for sitcoms. However, they tired of always being the ones behind the camera and holding the microfone for other production. Ironically, Since the death of Bennt's Grandfather, his will stated that he had inherited an old studio, ultimately finding out they have control of an small network channel now. So now Joseph and Benny have a chance to get their work out there, by doing their own work and showing it off on channel 89, 24 hours a day. Coming up with new material will be difficult for these two rising stars in Hoolywood... or... whatever.

I can easily see this as being a real animated series. Good work.

It's a wonder I haven't seen this before. I like the concept, by the way.

Strange. Joseph's design looks just like Random Road's Happy Face. The shape of the head, that hat (without the smiley face), just with different clothes.

The designs are nice, but the visuals are too similar to the ones you sent a couple days ago... (Tuned Out, I've read up there...)

I like the inheritance idea- sort of like how that idea is used again and again for Halloween stories concerning haunted houses. :P But that idea has never been used for other genres, so I'm excited about that part!

I think there should be more stories about the people behind the stories, not the stories themselves. That's why I like this one- you don't tell the story about the characters in the sitcom they direct! UNTITLED School of Art is based on that idea too.

Hmmm, maybe that's what I should do, my original idea was about them being producers and crew members on tv shows and movies.

They appear to be very much like Don and Chapman in appearance, but very unlike them in personality; even opposite in that respect.

So, basically, it's UHF, but with all the freedom that animation provides?
Good redesign!

Just to toss an idea out there; New Jersey used to be the movie center of North America prior to the 1920s, when Edison's Patent Trust forced movie makers out after 1912 due to his strongarming. It doesn't have access to many big-name stars now that they might try to hoodwink into coming on their shows, but it'd make an interesting setting; trying to revitalize the New Jersey entertainment mecha.

Here's a thought:

The friends they most want to bring on camera are too shy or busy to go on screen, while the countless annoying strangers who keep showing up in hopes of getting on TV can't be gotten rid of.

My suggestion: Give them some friends you establish early on who think they could be Hollywood giants if they were only given the chance. The guys give them their big shot, and it's a series of insane disasters. Eh? Eh?

I guess it's because both pairs are classic tall&skinny/short&fat teams.
